Pre Reaction’s
Collin- I thought we would struggle coming up with 50 recipes and struggle with sticking to actually accomplishing the resolution through the year. We started out strong and motivated but through a summer of moving new jobs etc. it seemed a bit unclear where we would finish out.
Jessica- Obviously I loved the idea however I was indeed worried that we might not get there and when people were reading the blog and asking about it I got more nervous that if we failed we weren’t the only ones privy to knowing.
The Actual Resolution Events:
Collin- We learned where things are in the grocery store we never looked for before…didn’t even know they made crock pot liners in 2012. The summer was a way to try new things at home and away our pallets have changed and we are more willing to try more things.
Jessica- We have ate better and tried things neither of us may have looked at before. God only knows how many dirty dishes, paper towels, and trash bags we went through in cleaning up after some of these meals but I wouldn’t trade it. They weren’t always great dishes but it was awesome to be knee deep in something that we were totally just dependent on each other to accomplish or not. And we learned new kitchen gadgets we never used before!
IN CONCLUSION:
We feel blessed that this year was what it was a year of new ideas, new treats, new failures and learning more about each other. Honestly we have grown we learned together what those weird words in the cook book meant and together what herbs and spices we liked and didn’t like. We LOVED having our friends ask about the recipes we were blogging about and we are sorry at times the blog got behind us. But, alas, the truth hurts, we didn’t do this for any of you reading we did this for us and although we only posted 50 recipes we both think we cooked more than 60 and we have the following in the freezer…Beef Stroganoff, Beef Stew, Toasted Mac and Cheese, Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, Chicken Pesto and Ham & Cheese Hash browns. If you are reading this thank you for cheering us on and be looking for our 2014 New Year’s Resolution. We did a lot of kissing in the kitchen and we opened our hearts and our taste buds…Resolution Accomplished!
